What is the role of network controllers in Gateway® ZX4800 series?

As you are working with Gateway® ZX4800 series you might need to connect your system to other system. You can do it with the help of a network controller. The network controller is also called a network interface card or simply NIC. The network controller acts as an interface between the system and the network.
