For this, you need to get the Computer icon from 'Start' menu and right-click on the icon to select 'Properties'. You need to then open the 'Device Manager' and navigate to the NIC. Right-click on the NIC option to select its Properties. You can then get the 'Power Management' tab in which you need to uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option. Finally, restart the system to see the issue resolved.



Advanced Troubleshooting Steps



There are some advanced troubleshooting steps which you need to take immediately when you get Internet connection drops in the system issue. The initial step is to update the motherboard driver of the system with latest updates. You will get this from the manufacturer's websites. The next step is to bypass the router used for connection in the system. Then, connect directly to modem and get the issue fixed.



Check Network Status


You can check the Network Status of the system to resolve the network drop issues. For this, you need to select 'Control Panel' from the 'Start' Button. Next step is to select 'View Network Status' and 'Tasks' from the 'Network and Internet' menu. You need to then select Local Area Connection in the 'View your Connections' section. You will get a new window in which you need to select 'Properties'. Uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6 option after selecting the 'OK' button. You will then get the "Welcome back to uninterrupted connection to the Internet" message.
