Microsoft® Office 2007 is the latest productivity suite from software giant, Microsoft®. Although the Microsoft® 2010 is also in the pipeline, Microsoft® Office 2007 is the suite available for users before the latter is launched.
Although it was released for sale to retail customers two years back in January 2007, it is still as popular as it was when it was first released and is used by users worldwide.
It was launched around the same time when Microsoft® launched its operating system Windows Vista®. It was packed with a lot of features with the most remarkable one being the Fluent User Interface which was earlier known as the Ribbon User Interface. It replaced the menus and toolbars with a tabbed toolbar known as the Ribbon. A lot of support services for Microsoft® 2007 have mushroomed ever since the suite was launched to tackle the various complications associated with it regarding the installation, activation, product kit, usability etc.
However, in this article, labeled under the parameters of a Support Manual for Microsoft® 2007, we will be discussing the issue regarding troubleshooting the complications when a user tries to activate a Microsoft® 2007 product. It is targeted at those users who are novices and have little or a workable amount of computer knowledge and would therefore, have troubleshooting issues.
For starters, when a user tries to activate a Microsoft® Office 2007 product, these problems might crop up and it goes to show that something is wrong and you need to immediately get support for Microsoft® 2007:
a) When a user tries to activate the Microsoft® Office 2007 product, the Activation Wizard disappears.
b) When the Internet is deployed to activate the Microsoft® Office 2007 product, there is a communication related error and the Activation Wizard does not start.
c) Using a phone to activate the Microsoft® Office 2007 product does not help either. Upon entering the confirmation ID that the support staff supplied to you, there is an error message which says that the confirmation ID is invalid.
These kinds of issues are not generic in nature and they have to be tackled with precision and accuracy. The Support Manual for Microsoft® Office 2007 will indicate that the Microsoft® Office 2007 product which was functional in the past, and not presently, should run in a reduced functionality mode.
Thereafter, for the issue on starting Microsoft® Office 2007 Trial product with the completion of the License Activation, the Microsoft® Office 2007 Trial product should also run in reduced functionality mode, and the Microsoft® Office 2007 Activation Wizard will be displayed.
There will also be an indication that the Microsoft® Office 2007 system has expired. Many features of the product are lapsed and unavailable during the expiry period and unless it is converted back to the whole product, chances are slim for revival. Click Convert to begin the conversion process.
There are other issues also which might be hampering the activation. This includes corrupted license files because in the event of corrupted files, there is no way of resolving the problem through the process of removing and then reinstalling the Microsoft® Office 2007 product. The license file continues to linger on even after the Microsoft® Office 2007 product is removed.
