Repair Windows® Vista® boot loader
Learn how to repair boot loader issues in a computer with Windows Vista?
The boot loader is a program that loads the operating system into the computer’s memory when the system is booted and also starts the operating system. A boot loader is also called a boot manager. When a computer is powered-up or restarted, the basic input/output system (BIOS) performs some initial tests, and then it transfers control to the master boot record (MBR) where the boot loader resides. Most of the new computers are coming with boot loaders. Windows Vista might no longer start after you install an earlier version of the Windows operating system in a dual-boot configuration. If you install an earlier version of the Windows operating system on a Windows Vista-based computer, the OS might no longer start. Boot loader contains a large number of files that might get altered due to installation of older versions of Windows over Windows Vista. It might also get infected due to virus.
