If you are looking for the complete solution to manually remove programs that the ”Add or Remove Programs” tool in ”Control Panel” cannot remove, then follow the easy 8-step resolution and these programs will get uninstalled from your system and you will have more hard disk space.
Each step is accompanied by an indicative screenshot for the ease of mirroring the action.
Identify the Programs to be Removed
In the ”Uninstall” folder, each key shows a program that is displayed in the currently installed programs list in the ”Add or Remove Programs” tool.
Determine which program each key represents by clicking the key and viewing the following values:
- DisplayName: It represents the name of the program that is listed in ”Add/Remove Programs”.
- UninstallString: It represents the program that is used to uninstall the program.
If the installed programs list in ”Add or Remove Programs” still show the deleted programs:
Go to ”Desktop”. Double-click on the ”Uninstall.reg” file (saved in Step 4) to restore the original list of programs in the registry. Follow the steps 5-9 once again to delete the programs.
If the installed programs list is not showing the deleted items:
Go to ‘Desktop’. Right-click on the ‘Uninstall.reg’ file and then click ‘Delete’.
You have successfully removed the programs manually, programs that you were unable to delete from ‘Add or Remove Programs’. We recommend that before you modify the registry, make sure to back it up.
